NOTE: This information only applies to the Motorola V3C Razr from Verizon.

Firmware files to flash your phone with at home are available by visiting http://www.humpa.com/vzw or http://ryfiles.com/flash   USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!

For the V3M firmware, click -> V3M Firmware Notes.

There are various software (aka firmware) versions available for your Verizon V3C phone... (other carriers may vary..)  For additional info on the Bluetooth abilities of the different firmwares also see the Phone Bluetooth page.

To check which version you have...  On the phone.... Menu -> Setting & Tools -> System -> Device Info -> Other Info -> S/W Version

GATW_01.0F.02 Initial Verizon release version.  Either by "accident" or for some other reason, the ability to do Bluetooth OBEX File Transfers as well as compatibility with the MultiMedia Studio features of Motorola Phone Tools (aka MPT) are ENABLED, and no hacks/seem edits are needed.  Just manually configure MPT as a V3CM.

GATW_01.0F.03 2nd Verizon release version.  There are NO official release notes as to what was fixed.  HOWEVER  Bluetooth OBEX File Transfers do NOT work and it appears the actual CODE has been removed from the phone, so there is no fix.  Also, compatibility with the MultiMedia Studio features of MPT are now DISABLED on the phone, BUT a seem edit will fix this (Seem 2742, Bytes (h) 90, Record 1, Offset 6A, set Bit0=1 or "check the box"), and manually configure MPT as a V3CM.

Store Flashed GATW_01.15.04 (for some reason aka GATW_01.0F.04??) There are NO official release notes as to what was fixed.  Based on discussion in Motorola V3C – New Software 01.15.04P the following changes are noticed...

"fixes for the following issues:
• Device continues to display a data connection after ending the application
• Improved menu response and speed
• M-F Alarm Clock set and will alert on Saturday
• Ability to view all inbox messages via right/left navigation button after opening a
message
• Ability to remove missed call icon by pressing the “SEND” key to view all calls"
• Faster menus
• Orange External screen instead of wall paper (fixable via SEEM EDIT)
• More stable Bluetooth headset connection

Initially, For the first couple of weeks after the .04 code was released in the stores, having the store flash you from 01.0F.02 to 01.0F.04 left BT OBEX FT's enabled, just like with the .02 code.   Now having the Store flash ANY version on your phone REMOVES BT OBEX File Transfers (seem edit will NOT FIX), and disables the ability to use MPT's MultiMedia Studio (seem edit can fix.)

LEAKED GATW_01.15.04 (for some reason aka GATW_01.0F.04??) available to Flash At Home from -> http://www.humpa.com/vzw or http://ryfiles.com/flash  ...  This version is EXACTLY the same as the store flashed .04 version EXCEPT, this version will give you Bluetooth OBEX File Transfers, and you do not need to Seem Edit (Offset6A/bit0) to re-enable the phone's compatibility with MPT's MultiMedia Studio (just manually configure MPT as V3CM) no matter what firmware your phone had.

GATW_01.18.02  There are NO Official release notes as to what was fixed.  Discussion continues at -> Motorola VZW V3c NEW FIRMWARE GATW_01.18.02   initial reports indicate this firmware will DISABLE/REMOVE support for Bluetooth OBEX File Transfers, and you'll have to seem edit to re-enable compatibility with MPT's MultiMedia Studio features.  However there are conflicting reports that if you have GATW_01.0F.02 firmware on your phone and upgrade to this, you'll still have BT OBEX TF's.

When it comes to the OBEX File Transfer and MPT's MultiMedia Studio capabilities with the Verizon Firmware, that depends...

Currently, the only way to get Bluetooth OBEX File Transfers on the Verizon firmware is FLASH AT HOME with either the 01.0F.02, OR the LEAKED .04P (available at http://www.humpa.com/vzw or http://ryfiles.com/flash)... Doing this,  BT Obex File Transfers & MPT's MMS works.  No hacks or seem edits needed.   See also -> see the post 942 of  Motorola V3C – New Software 01.15.04P by chuckh
