For Best results, instead of the guide guide below, please use ->  Getting Alltel V3C/V3M/K1M Monster firmwares working: A more Automated Process.

I do NOT have a KRZR K1m, so I can not run this process myself, nor can I offer any assistance with it....

EDIT: It a Verizon K1M Monster has now been leaked.. so if you can't get this working, you can use it to revert to the STOCK Verizon K1M firmware.  See -> Flash from Alltel Firmware back to Verizon's Firmware.

These instructions can be discussed in -> Alltel K1m Monster is out!!

The standard disclaimers apply...  Use at your own Risk... you could brick your phone, void your warranty, etc. !!

NOTE: If you have another phone, the one you are working on does not have to be the currently active phone on your account while "converting" to the Alltel firmware... BUT it must be active on your account while programmed via *228 opt 1... so that the Verizon programming can occur...  After that, you may activate another phone while you continue the process...

The following was written and submitted by DanPFW   the only edits I have done was to link the files (based on where they are stored on this server)....

Steps to activate a Motorola KRZR K1m running Alltel firmware on Verizon Wireless Network

This guide assumes you already have a Motorola KRZR K1m with a clean copy of Alltel branded firmware and all PC software required to modify a Motorola CDMA wireless telephone.

You will need the Motorola PST 7.2.5 and P2K Seem for CDMA phones in order to apply the necessary changes. You will also need P2K Commander 3.2.6 in order to apply additional modifications.

1. Write VZW PRL and ERI files to phone with PST.
2. Activate and program phone by dialing *228, and selecting option 1.
3. Write RTT 1x-Browser configuration file using PST. (Select Version 6.x tab before writing to phone)
4. Write BREW configuration file using PST.
5. Write MMS Data configuration file using PST.

  • Change Album Upload Address, replace <min> @pix.vtext.com with your phone number.  Example: 9995551212@pix.vtext.com
6. Edit the following seems.
  • 29a9, read 7f bytes from phone, load seem from file, write to phone.
  • 29bb, read 64 bytes from phone, load seem from file, write to phone.
  • 29bc, read 42 bytes from phone, load seem from file, write to phone.
  • 29e9, read 82 bytes from phone, load seem from file, write to phone.
7. Verify seems 01d1, 04aa and 038e (bytes h = 20) contain your telephone number@vzw3g.com.
8. Verify seem 29a0 contains your telephone number@pix.vtext.com.
9. Verify seem 2977 contains testapps.myvzw.com
10. Verify seem 2979 contains apps.myvzw.com and apps2.myvzw.com

After updating all seems, restart phone. Enter debug mode (#0setup*,000000), disable EVDO. This value gets reset each time you dial *228.

Enter menu, Settings, Security, Data Connection. Change service type to Auto, and verify the 1XRTT Data values contain your telephone number&vzw3g.com.

Enter menu, Messages, press Options softkey for Message Inbox, press Select softkey for Inbox Setup, Select MMS Message Setup, Server Info, and verify the Server Name and Web Session Name match VZW values.

If all of these values are correct, all feature of your phone, minus VCAST, should be working as normal.

If you would like to customize your phone further, you can update the menu files to replace Axcess Apps and Axcess Web with Mobile Apps and Mobile Web. You can also update the icons to replace the Alltel Axcess icons. You can also replace the Alltel BREW appmgr file with a vzw appmgr.

Here are some basic modifications and the steps. When copying files with P2K commander, you only need to reboot the phone after all files have been copied.

Seem 2742 contains many basic tweaks you may want to make to your phone.
