1. First Step!!... Installing the Moto
USB Modem drivers for Windows. Initial drivers Needed for MPT, BitPim...
Includes info for setting up the Verizon V3M/K1m/Maxx Ve to sync with Windows Media
Player.
1b. LG VX-8500 Chocolate: Installing the drivers and usb cable from the Media
Essentials Kit, and using Windows Media Player to Sync.
2. Installing PST, its drivers, and making sure it connects to your phone. See
the Seem Edit Preparation work info which was formerly located on the Seem Edit Guide
2a. Using Motorola's Software Update program (aka
MSU) instead of PST (includes link to download MSU.) MSU is
freely/legally available, and puts the phone into the exact same
suspend mode required during the seem edit process as PST! NOTE: I have
not yet updated my pages to reflect that MSU can be used IN PLACE OF PST when it comes to suspending the phone for
P2KSeem, P2KCommander, Etc...
3. Seem Edit process... walk thru of how to do a seem edit once
MSU or PST is installed
correctly. NOTE: This process can be used for ANY Seem edit where you have the
Seem File number, Bytes in Hex (aka length), record number and bits you need to

Bluetooth Page. NOTE: this only works on a Verizon V3C with .02
firmware, the LEAKED .04P or a Seem Edited E815, or an Alltel Moto phone. It does
NOT apply to the Verizon V710, K1M, V3M, or the V3C with Verizon .03 firmware, or .03
upgraded to .04 by a Verizon store!!
15. Using your phone as a Fax... When configuring your software, pick
either Motorola USB Modem, or Bluetooth Modem depending on your setup.
Note: set the max FAX speed as 9600.

the FAX software has a connection to your phone, you can't use MPT, BitPIM, PST,
etc. To RECEIVE... you will need to use the
phone's menus to set the next incoming call as a FAX...
15a. How to use your phone as a FAX with the WinXP
fax service. For how to enable/configure the XP Fax Service see -> MS KB Article ID : 306550 For how to send see -> MS KB Article ID : 306657 For how to receive see -> MS KB Article ID : 306662 NOTE: The XP fax service is more difficult to turn
on/off so it doesn't always try to hold a connection to your modem/phone.
15b. How to use your phone as a FAX using Symantec WinFax PRO.
Note: Exit the Controller program to release the connection to your modem/phone.
16. How to flash your phone. Written as a
Generic Guide to flash ANY FIRMWARE, since most other guides are built as part

19. Making custom ringtones... The
information I have on the TOP of my RINGTONE page applies to the V710, E815, V3C and V3M.
20. Making custom pictures/wall paper...
The same information I have on my Graphics page still applies to the
V710/E815/V3C/V3M. However, while the V3C/V3M's screen size
is still 176x220, the area taken up by soft menu keys, banners, etc.. results in
a different portion of the graphic being visible. So V3C users please also see -> V3c
viewable wallpaper/screen size info...
21. Quick Mods/Tips for Verizon V3c. These also work on the V3M, and some of these can also be used on the
E815.
22. TUTORIAL: How to
remove default pix\sounds from E815 (Link to thread/post on
Howardforums.com) USE WITH CAUTION!!! Also works on the V710, V3C and V3M.
23. Disabling EVDO on the E815 Forces your E815 into 1xRTT mode...
This can help with battery life if your phone
constantly switches between 1x and EVDO because you are on the "edge of
coverage" BUT you can't use vCast, and your Get-it-Now, MMS Messaging, WAP, and
other data services will be slower
23a. Disabling EVDO for the V3C/V3M/K1M...
Forces your V3C/V3M/K1M into 1xRTT mode... This can help with battery life if your phone constantly switches between 1x and

24. Additional Web Browser features...
NOTE: for the E815, however V3C/V3M users are reporting this works for
them too.. This will
add additional menu functions/options from the OpenWave web browser on your
phone.
25. Enabling EVDO DUN by Removing the PAP only DUN restriction
on the E815 with 1.1E.00 firmware. NOTE: this should also work for the V3C/V3M, but
is NOT needed for the E815 with 1.17.03 firmware, or a V710.
25a. Enabling EVDO DUN for the Maxx Ve. see the info on the DUN page.
26. Where to get "free" MP3 Ring tones...
info on how to use various sites to get MP3 ring tones...
27. Using your V710, E815 or V3C/V3M to establish a Dial-Up
Networking (aka DUN) connection to Verizon's high speed (1xRTT or EVDO) network. Note:
tethering with an EVDO phone like this is against Verizon's Terms of Service, so
use as your own risk!!!
28. The "OutBox Trick" to copy sound files between the phone's memory and TF
card without HACKING the phone. The instructions posted by kilofox work perfectly with my V710 and E815, so
there is no reason for me to write up. Click -> HERE to read them. NOTE: This can be used with the V3M, however, the menu's
will be different.
29. BELL FASH... KBMAN's Bell E815
MMS Tutuorial... If you are using a BELL E815 phone on Verizon's
network, this is for you. This will help you get MMS working on your
phone.

31. How To Load Skins on the E815... NO INFO... SKINS ARE
DANGEROUS.. An Improper skin, or improperly loading a skin can render your phone
inoperable, and unrecoverable... As such, I will not add info here.
Instead, I will just point you to -> The
Official E815 Skins Thread, and a guide on making your own and warn
you to USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! NOTE: Due to the Verizon Red UI, the V3C
and V3M Verizon firmware do NOT support skins. NOTE: If you "BRICK" your
phone from trying skins.. try the suggestion in HOW TO #32.. or see -> Howto:
Un-brick Your E815!!!
32. How to Load Skins on the VERIZON V3C... Due to the Verizon UI on the
V3C/V3M, you can NOT make use of SKINS the same way as you can on the E815/Moto
UI V3C/V3M. MESSING WITH SINKS on the Verizon
V3C/V3M WILL CAUSE MAJOR PROBLEMS and potentially render your phone inoperable!!! Please see -> WARNING: Skins and the Verizon V3C or V3M. You can however, make use of "Themes" on the Verizon V3C/V3M/K1M see -> http://hacktherazr.com/guide.v3c.v3m.skin.html NOTE: this is NOT
the same process, or the Same Skin Files as used on a Phone with the Moto UI!!
33. How to backup/restore/copy your phonebook
using MPT. Process to backup/restore your phone's contacts using
MPT, also useful to copy your phonebook from one phone to another. Contains
details on manually editing the Contacts.csv file...
34. Verizon V3M: Extend the
length of the Video Recording time when using the phone's Built-in
camera... Aka extending video duration....
35. Verizon V3M: changing the default
location of where Pix and Flix are stored, and extend Video Recording Length... when using the Transflash card.

41. How to copy Voice Memo's from the Phone To the PC (may not be available on all phones)...
Use either the FileSystem tab in BitPim or P2KCommander to copy the .QCP files from /VoiceDB/All/Memos And they can be played back using Qualcomm PureVoice v2.0 (see the PC
Software page for details)
42. FIX: Unable to Edit Ring Styles...
This is a way to fix the problem of the phone looping or kicking you back to the
menu when you try and edit a ring style. May also be needed when you flash
your phone to another firmware.
43. OLD: Flashing your Verizon V3C to Alltel's firmware,
and get it working On Verizon's network. This is a slightly different way
than the WIKI. Note: Has been replaced by MONSTER2.HTM
44. OLD: Flashing your Verizon KRZR K1m to Alltel's
